Clinician reviewing hormone replacement therapy options with a patient

✦ Wellness · Hormone Replacement Therapy

Understanding hormone replacement therapy.

A clear, honest guide to what HRT actually is, who it's for, how it's delivered, and what to expect — written by the clinicians who prescribe it every day.

✦ What it is

Restoring what time has taken away.

Hormone replacement therapy restores hormones — estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid, DHEA — back to the levels of a healthy younger adult. It is one of the most well-studied interventions in modern medicine and, when done correctly, one of the most transformative.

We use bioidentical hormones — structurally identical to what your body produces — and we dose them based on your labs and your symptoms, not a one-size-fits-all chart.

HRT is not "anti-aging." It's the recognition that the slow decline of essential hormones is treatable, and that you don't have to accept feeling like a worn-down version of yourself.

✦ Who it's for

If any of this sounds familiar.

Hormone imbalance rarely shows up as one dramatic symptom. It's usually a quiet, cumulative loss of the things that made you feel like yourself.

  • Persistent fatigue or low energy despite sleep and exercise
  • Stubborn weight gain, especially around the midsection
  • Loss of libido, performance changes, or vaginal dryness
  • Mood swings, irritability, anxiety, or new-onset depression
  • Brain fog, memory slips, or loss of mental sharpness
  • Hot flashes, night sweats, or disrupted sleep
  • Loss of muscle tone or slower recovery from workouts
✦ Delivery methods

Four ways to deliver the same molecule.

The right method is the one that fits your physiology, your schedule, and your preferences. We'll help you choose — and we can change it later if needed.

01

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT)

Hormones structurally identical to those your body produces — estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA. Compounded or FDA-approved, dosed to your labs and symptoms rather than a fixed protocol.

02

Pellet Therapy

Tiny, compressed hormone pellets placed under the skin during a quick in-office visit. Releases steady, physiologic doses for 3–5 months — no daily creams, patches, or injections to remember.

03

Injections

Weekly or twice-weekly testosterone or peptide injections allow precise titration and the most flexible adjustment for athletes, shift workers, and complex cases.

04

Topicals & Troches

Creams, gels, and dissolvable troches for patients who prefer non-invasive delivery or need fine control over short-acting hormones like progesterone or DHEA.

✦ What you can expect

The benefits, honestly.

Energy & stamina

Most patients notice a meaningful lift in daily energy within 4–6 weeks.

Mood & mental clarity

Stabilized hormones often resolve brain fog and ease mood swings before any other change.

Body composition

Restored testosterone and thyroid function make fat loss and muscle gain possible again.

Sleep quality

Balanced progesterone and cortisol rhythm restore deep, uninterrupted sleep.

Libido & intimacy

Sexual health is a vital sign — restoring it restores connection and confidence.

Long-term protection

Optimized hormones support bone density, cardiovascular health, and cognitive resilience.

✦ What to expect

A roadmap, not a prescription pad.

Real hormone optimization takes a few months and a real partnership. Here's what working with us actually looks like.

  1. Visit 1

    Labs first

Come in for a full hormone, metabolic, and inflammatory panel — or bring recent labs to your consultation. Either way, we start with real data.

  2. Visit 2

    Consult & personalized protocol

A 60–90 minute review of every marker. We explain the 'why,' and design a protocol tailored to your physiology, lifestyle, and preferences.

  3. Weeks 4–6

    Early symptom check-in

A short follow-up to track how you feel, adjust dosing, and answer questions as your body recalibrates.

  4. 8–16 weeks

    Repeat labs & optimization

We re-measure, fine-tune, and lock in the dosing that delivers the best clinical and subjective response.

  5. Ongoing

    Quarterly partnership

Long-term hormone care is a relationship. We monitor, adjust, and evolve your plan as life changes.

✦ Frequently asked

The questions everyone asks.

Is HRT safe?

+

When prescribed appropriately and monitored with regular labs, modern bioidentical hormone therapy has a strong safety profile. Most of the historical concerns came from older synthetic formulations and unmonitored dosing — both of which we explicitly avoid.

How long until I feel a difference?

+

Many patients notice improvements in energy, sleep, and mood within 2–4 weeks. Body composition and libido changes typically follow over 8–12 weeks as your physiology recalibrates.

Will I be on HRT forever?

+

Not necessarily. Some patients use HRT for a defined window through perimenopause or andropause; others choose long-term optimization for the longevity and protective benefits. We re-evaluate goals together every year.

Do you treat both men and women?

+

Yes. We have dedicated protocols for men's andropause and testosterone optimization, women's perimenopause and menopause, and complex cases for younger patients with hormone dysregulation.

Will my insurance cover this?

+

Most lab work is covered through insurance. The clinical care, compounded hormones, and pellets are typically out-of-pocket — which is what allows us to spend the time and run the panels conventional medicine often skips.

How much does HRT cost?

+

Your total is made up of four pieces: the initial consult, comprehensive labs, the hormone and its delivery route, and follow-up visits with repeat labs. We break down each one at /hrt-cost, and quote your exact protocol in writing at your consult.
