Testosterone pellets in Boise, dosed from your labs.

Testosterone pellets deliver steady, bioidentical hormone levels for 3–6 months — no daily creams, no weekly injections, no peaks and crashes. At Idaho Health & Hormones in Meridian, just minutes from Boise, every pellet protocol is built on comprehensive labs and refined over time.

✦ The hormone connection

Why pellets, and why labs first.

Pellets are tiny, rice-sized cylinders of bioidentical testosterone (and estradiol, for women) placed just under the skin in a 10-minute office procedure. They release hormone steadily over months — closer to how your body produced it naturally than any other delivery route.

The reason pellets get a bad reputation in some clinics is dosing. Cookie-cutter doses lead to over-replacement, side effects, and pellets that have to be removed. We don't do cookie-cutter. Every dose is calculated from your labs, body composition, age, and goals — and re-measured at follow-up.

For men, pellets are an excellent option when injections are inconvenient. For women, pellets are often the most effective way to restore testosterone — supporting libido, mood, energy, and lean muscle through perimenopause and beyond.

✦ Signs we look for

Sound familiar?

  • Tired of weekly TRT injections or daily creams
  • Inconsistent energy or mood between doses
  • Looking for a set-and-forget hormone option
  • Perimenopausal women wanting testosterone support
  • Athletes or executives who travel and need steady levels
  • Already on pellets but feeling 'off' — needs proper dosing
✦ Root causes we investigate

We look deeper.

01

Inconsistent injection or cream levels

Weekly testosterone injections create a peak-and-trough pattern. Daily creams require perfect compliance and consistent absorption. Pellets smooth the curve.

02

Female testosterone deficiency

Women produce — and need — testosterone. After 40, levels drop sharply, contributing to low libido, fatigue, brain fog, and loss of lean muscle. Pellets are often the cleanest fix.

03

Travel, work schedule, or compliance

If your life makes weekly shots or daily creams impractical, pellets remove the daily decision. Insert once, dosed for months.

04

Over- or under-dosing from prior pellet providers

Many patients come to us from pellet clinics that under- or over-pelleted them. Re-baselining with proper labs and pellet sizing usually fixes it.

✦ Our approach

How we get you there.

  1. Visit 1

    Comprehensive labs & consult

Full hormone, metabolic, and (when relevant) cardiovascular workup at our Meridian clinic. We map your physiology before designing a pellet dose.

  2. Visit 2

    Pellet insertion

A 10-minute in-office procedure. Local numbing, a tiny incision in the upper buttock, pellets placed, single suture. Back to work the same day.

  3. Weeks 4–8

    Recheck labs & symptoms

We measure peak levels and review symptoms. If dosing needs adjustment, we plan it for the next insertion — not by adding more pellets mid-cycle.

  4. 3–6 months

    Re-pellet & refine

Most men re-pellet every 3–4 months; most women every 4–6 months. Dose is refined each round based on labs, symptoms, and how you feel between cycles.

✦ Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

How long do testosterone pellets last?
Roughly 3–4 months for most men and 4–6 months for most women. Activity level, metabolism, and dose all influence longevity.
Is pellet insertion painful?
No. The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most patients describe pressure and a quick pinch. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes with minimal downtime.
Can pellets be removed if I don't like them?
Yes, though it's rarely needed when dosing is done properly from labs. If a dose adjustment is needed, we typically wait for the current pellets to dissolve and adjust the next round.
Are pellets safe for women?
Yes — and often preferred. Bioidentical testosterone pellets at physiologic female doses have a strong safety record for restoring libido, energy, mood, and lean muscle in perimenopausal and menopausal women.
Where are pellets inserted, and is there a scar?
Pellets are placed under the skin of the upper buttock through a small incision closed with a single suture or steri-strip. Any mark fades quickly and is hidden under clothing.
